The first step is to open Google and click Google apps launcher.

Click Account

Sign In.
Click Google Apps Launcher

Click Classroom

Click on your Class

Click Classwork

Click Create

Click the Type of Assignment you would like to send to a specific group of students.

Type a Title for your assignment.

Type Instructions (optional)

Click Add or Create.
Add means you'll be adding something pre-created, whereas create means you are going to create something "on the fly" for your students.

Scroll down and click on the Type of Resource you'll be uploading.

Select the Resource.

Click Add

Click Students can view file

Click on the Permissions you would like your students to have for this file.
Most of the time you will use Make a copy for each student unless students are working in a group. Then, you may prefer students can edit file.

Click the drop down menu next to All Students.

Scroll down and uncheck All Students.

Select only the students you would like this file to go to.

This is a great way to differentiate, provide tiered support for students, or assign group work.

The assignment will only show up for Students who are assigned.

Choose the Number of points the assignment is worth or select Ungraded.

Click Assign.

Assignments will be listed under the Classwork tab.
That's it. You're done.
