What is DUO?

DUO Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your account.

After you enter your username and password, DUO confirms it’s really you by sending a request to your phone.

 


 

What You Need Before You Begin

  • A computer

  • A smartphone or tablet

  • Internet access

  • Your work or school username and password

  • Apple or Google store password

 


 

Step 1: Log In and Start DUO Setup

  1. Go to your organization’s login page

    1.  Sign in to a school device

    2. https://myapps.plcschools.org

  2. Enter your username and password

  3. The DUO enrollment screen will appear and say Welcome

Step 2: Choose Your Device

DUO will ask which device to use for authentication.

  1. Select Mobile Phone

  2. Click Continue

Step 3: Enter Your Phone Number

  1. Enter your mobile phone number

  2. Confirm the number is correct by checking the box

  3. Click Continue



 


 

Step 4: Select Your Phone Type

Choose the option that matches your device:

  • iPhone

  • Android

Click Continue after selecting your device.

Step 5: Install the Duo Mobile App

  1. Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android)

  2. Search for Duo Mobile

  3. Install the app on your device

Step 6: Activate Duo Mobile (Scan QR Code)

  1. Open the Duo Mobile app on your phone

  2. Tap Add Account

  3. Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code shown on your computer screen

Step 7: Practice DUO

DUO will do a practice as part of the setup.

  1. It will have you deny and approve as part of the setup process

Setup Complete

You are now enrolled in DUO.

Going forward:

  1. Log in with your username and password

  2. Check your phone for a DUO request

  3. Tap Approve to complete sign-in

 


 

Important Reminders

  • You must have access to your phone to log in

  • An internet/Cell connection is required for DUO push notifications
