Thank you for being a long-term substitute (LTS) teacher in PLCS! Starting in the 2022-23 school year, for long-term absences, the District has purchased a small fleet of Chromebooks for long-term substitute teachers.
The following steps will help walk you through the PLCS long-term substitute setup process:
Long-Term Substitute Laptop
Human Resources will notify the Technology Department in advance of your planned LTS job. A Chromebook laptop will be prepared and checked out to you. This device will be delivered to the building’s main office either by a member of the technology department or via inter-District mail.
Upon the completion of your LTS job, the Chromebook laptop must be returned to the technology department. Please deliver it to the main office at your building to facilitate the return process. Please use the list above to check and make sure all components are in the bag and are returned upon the job completion.
SIMS Classroom/Google Classroom
The day prior to the start of your job, the Technology Department will set-up your long-term sub account in SIMS Classroom & Google Classroom. A confirmation email will be sent to you, the teacher, the principal and secretary.
Our goal is to make transitioning both in and out of a long term leave smooth and efficient for both you and the teacher. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this process! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns (helpdesk@plcschools.org or 402-537-6299).
